Geraldine Elaine Decker, age 98, peacefully went home to be with her Lord while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Geraldine (Powell) Reimersma; her husband, Robert D. Decker; her son, Robert John Decker; her brother, Jack Reimersma; sister-in-law, Jean Moermand. Gerri leaves behind and will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen (Martin) Kamphuis; daughter-in-law, June Decker; grandchildren, Lisa (Kevin) McCaffrey, Todd (Kellie) Kamphuis, Sabrina (Matthew) Kind; great grandchildren; Arabella and Elijah Kind; brother-in-law, Richard (Anne) Decker. Gerri was an outgoing person, she had many dear friends and enjoyed spending time with her family. She stayed active throughout her life and loved golf and bowling. Gerri had several different volunteer jobs, she traveled extensively, and was a Sunday school teacher. She worked for many years at Quimby Walstrom Paper Co. A memorial service to celebrate Gerri's life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at Rosewood Reformed Church (2795 Rosewood St., Jenison, Michigan 49428) with Rev. Austin Vondracek officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior (10 -11 am) to the service at church. A private family interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
