Gabrielle Irie
Cutts
May 16, 2003 — Nov 4, 2023
Gabrielle Irie Cutts, a beacon of courage, love, and laughter, graced this world with her presence on May 16, 2003, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her life, though cut short by complications due to a rare blood disorder on November 4, 2023, was a testament to the power of resilience and the human spirit. Born to Benjie Sr. and Tanecia Cutts, Gabrielle was the light of her family. She shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings Essence, Molisha, Benjie Jr., and T'Shon Cutts. Her nephews King, Princeton, and JaMier brought immense joy to her life. She was the beloved granddaughter of Marvin and Marion Smith, and was cherished by her aunts Juanita (Swade) Chilton, Janiene (Lawrence) Scruggs and Velvet Dunlap, as well as her uncles Anthony DeWayne (Brenda) Cutts and Regnald (Delicia) Cutts. Gabrielle's life was enriched by the love and support of countless other family members and friends. Gabrielle graduated from East Kentwood High School in 2021, leaving an indelible mark on her classmates and teachers with her infectious laughter and kindness. In her free time, Gabrielle found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to bake, creating delicious treats that were as sweet as her personality. She enjoyed taking walks, finding serenity in nature's beauty. Working out was another of her passions, showcasing her commitment to health and self-improvement. Going to the movies offered her an escape into the world of stories and emotions. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Gabrielle was a shining example of courage. Despite the challenges she faced in the last four months she remained strong, never losing her sense of humor or her love for life. Her laughter was infectious, brightening the lives of those around her. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. As we remember Gabrielle, let us not dwell on the tragic brevity of her life, but rather celebrate the remarkable impact she had on those around her. She lived her life to the fullest, embodying the words of Maya Angelou: "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." Gabrielle Irie Cutts, though no longer with us, continues to inspire with her courage, love, and laughter. She will always be remembered as a beacon of resilience, a source of joy, and a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate enough to know her. The family wishes to share their acknowledgements and thanks to her medical team at The Cancer and Hematology Center located in Lacks Cancer Center, Lemmen- Holton Adult Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic and the staff on 5 Center of Corewell (Butterworth) Health for the excellent care and support they provided. And a special thank you to everyone in the community who donates blood to the local blood banks. It is only because of your kindness and generosity that we were able to have the last four months with our angel. For that we are forever grateful. In lieu of flowers the family kindly request donations and support of the local blood banks, Be the Match organization or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. A repast will be held at Restoring Faith Ministries, 5262 Eastern Ave SE
Kentwood, MI 49508 from 3-6pm on Monday, November 13, 2023.
