Frank B.
Wigda
Sep 10, 1955 — Sep 18, 2023
Frank B. Wigda, age 68, went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 10, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended St. Alphonsus School, graduated from Catholic Central High School, and continued his education at R.E.T.S. Electronics Schools. He was also a proud member of the Young Marines.
He is survived by his loving wife Julie, sister Christine (Eric) VanDerVeen, and sister Patricia (Ted) Dimke. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Mary Wigda and infant brother Joseph.
Frank married Julie Schondelmayer on October 1, 1994, and their wonderful love story began. Frank and Julie embraced 28 beautiful years of marriage in a home filled with love. He was the love of Julie's life.
Frank loved the peacefulness of their home in the woods where he could enjoy the birds, deer, and squirrels. Taking many trips out west, he was an avid downhill skier and loved getting First Tracks on the slopes of Utah. Frank also appreciated different genres of music and had an extensive vinyl record collection.
Frank especially enjoyed spending time at his cabin on Luther Pond along the Little Manistee River in Luther, Michigan. He had many wonderful memories of time spent with family and friends at the cabin including those special times hunting and fishing with his Dad. The fun of "Luther Days" and watching July 4th fireworks from the dock was the best!
Frank will be deeply missed but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Frank embraced his Catholic faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church. In the spirit of Frank's lifelong devotion to the Catholic Church, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Patrick School General Fund.
A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parnell with Fr. Thomas Cavera, celebrant. Luncheon to follow. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
