Frank J.
Eimer
Jun 19, 1944 — Oct 30, 2025
Frank John Eimer, age 81, embarked on his final tour to the great gig in the sky on October 30, 2025 at 5:55AM. He passed away after a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).
Frank was born in Jackson, MI on June 9, 1944 to Beverly and Frank Eimer. Frank's journey began with a simple tune and blossomed into a symphony of achievements. He started singing for his church choir when he was in the 2nd grade, and by the time he was 16 he had his own band "Frankie and the Teen Tones" where he was the lead vocalist and played the guitar.
Frank taught and influenced the next generation of musicians in West Michigan for many years and he loved every minute of it. He taught at the Caledonia Resource Center and his knowledge of voice, guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, and theory became the cornerstone of many young artists' education.
Frank had many accomplishments, including being a master chocolatier and owning his own company called "Candy Mountain", owning his own bar, "Froggy's", and proudly opening for "The Drifters". He was also a member of many bands over the years; "Me and Dem Guys" and "Frank Eimer Band" just to name a few. But his proudest moment was the day his band, "Me and Dem Guys" were inducted into the Michigan Legend Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009, specifically for their song "Black Cloud". For 63 years, he strummed and hummed his way into the hearts of many.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Marge Eimer (nee Sherman), his loving children, Darcy (Mike), John (Jonie), and Brett (Stephanie), his cherished grandchildren, Megan (Brent), Jonathan, Bella, Blake, and Brooke, and his treasured great-granddaughter, Luna. He is also survived by his siblings, Pat (Bob), Tom (Mary), George (Sue), and Joe (Liz). He is preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Frank Eimer, sisters-in-law, Sandy and Eva, and his nephews, Robert and Fred.
Frank performed until his final days and his life was his masterpiece, we are all the richer for having been part of its audience. His songs will play on in our hearts forever and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
