Evelyn Lucille De Vries, age 96, went to be with her Lord on May 18, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom, on April 7th, 2010.

Ev is survived by her children, Tom and Liliana De Vries, Ruth Ann and Bob Vander Roest, Karen and Gerry Walcott, Dave and Kim De Vries, Mark and Vilma De Vries, Tim and Kathy De Vries, and Steve and Erica De Vries; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron & Grace De Vries.

She was also preceded in death by her brother & sister-in-law, Robert and Nancy De Young.

Ev and Tom started their ministry at Leighton Christian Reformed Church in Iowa. From there they received the call, in 1958, to Christian Reformed World Missions. Over the next 38 years, she and Tom served in Latin America and Eastern Europe. In their retirement years, they continued serving the Lord in these areas as well as Cuba.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Holland Home for their love and care shown to our Mom.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5th at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids) at 2PM with a visitation starting at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Holland Home.
