Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Chase, 101 years old, died Sunday May 7, 2023 at Holland Home Raybrook Manor. Betty was born in 1921 to John and Henrietta Meernik in Grand Rapids. On August 19, 1941, she married (Eben) Edward Chase who preceded her in death August 8, 1982. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerrit (Trudy) Meernik; sons, Eddie John Chase Jr., Rickey Lee Chase; and daughter-in-law, Pamela (Ed) Chase. Betty is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Martin) DeVries, and Bonnie (Todd) Hendricks; sons, Ronald Sterling Chase and Randall Scott Chase; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Throughout Betty's life, her faith and family were of the utmost importance to her and provided her with great pride. Betty was a people person and enjoyed making friends wherever she was. She graduated from Lee High School in 1939 and was a member of 8th Reformed Church in Wyoming, MI. Private interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Holland Home Raybrook Chapel on May 22, at 11:00 am.
