Yonker Jr.
Jun 3, 1938 — Jul 24, 2025
On July 24, 2025, Edward James Yonker Jr. was called to his heavenly home.
Edward was born to Charlotte (Pastoor) and Edward Yonker Sr. in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 3, 1938. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Edward James Yonker III, his brother Rynard (the late Arlene) Yonker, sisters, Carol (the late Ken) Smits and Anne (Ray) Browneye.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Marjorie Mae (Vander Werp) Yonker and daughter Kelly Yonker, his grandchildren Jacob (Gina) Yonker, Jamie Yonker, and precious great-grandchildren, Philip, Juniper, and Piper, and sister, Helen (Rich) Hoekstra.
Ed started at a young age working for his parents at Yonker Greenhouse. In 1966, Ed became the founder of Yonker Welding, partnering with his brother, Rynard (Ryan). Ed was known for his hard work, perfectionism, and dedication to his skill, he worked well into his 70's. Over the years, his passions were fishing with his son and grandson, attending sprint car races with family, and flying model airplanes. He will fondly be remembered for always making people laugh with his quick wit, his devotion to his family and being a "Jack of all trades".
Ed endured many health conditions over the years. He is now free from all pain and suffering and is resting comfortably in the arms of Jesus. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel from 2PM – 4PM and 5PM – 7PM. A private graveside service will be held at his final resting place, Blain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to Faith Hospice – Trillium Woods in Edwards name.
