Douglas Harvey
Westfield
May 19, 1955 — Nov 29, 2025
Douglas Harvey Westfield, age 70, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Harvey had a deep love for music, especially playing the guitar, loved the thrill of going to the races and spending time on the golf course whenever he could. These three passions brought him immense joy and a sense of peace throughout his life. He was also very conversational and truly enjoyed meeting and talking with new people; he never met a stranger and always made others feel welcome.
Harvey built a long and successful career at Amway in Ada, Michigan, where he worked for 40 years. During that time, he formed lasting friendships and became a steady, trusted presence for the team on the factory floor. He took great pride in his work, was known for his attention to detail, and earned the respect of his coworkers as someone who could always be counted on.
In his later years, Harvey especially loved being a grandfather and sharing his stories with all who would listen; especially at his favorite places: Brann's, Woodland Mall, and Barnes & Noble. It was in these everyday spots that he had thousands of conversations and made countless friends along the way.
Harvey is survived by his companion of 20 years Sharon Olszewski; his children, Lindsey (Forrest Page) and Michael Westfield and their mother, Cindy; his grandchildren, Madsen and Olive Page; his mother, Elaine Ike; his sisters, Connie Selvius (Tom) and Cherrie Westfield-Hoffman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Westfield (Nancy) and his brother, Curtis Westfield.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Zaagman Memorial Chapel in Grand Rapids. The funeral service will follow at noon at the same location.
Harvey will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His laugh, his stories, and his kind spirit will live on through his family and friends.
