Claiming God's promise of salvation and eternal life, Dorothy Josephine (Bulk) Kwantes' earthly life ended on November 13, 2022 at the age of 95. She was born on September 10, 1927 to Joseph and Hazel (Barnes) Bulk in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On February 14, 1948 she was married to Peter Kwantes in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dorothy and Peter were long-time members of Alger Park Christian Reformed Church. There they were leaders of the Young Adults Group for 11 years. She and Peter also served as volunteers for Disaster Response Services of the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (now World Renew) for many years. Dorothy and Peter enjoyed wintering at Terra Siesta Park in Ellenton, Florida for 27 years. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Joan (Patrick) Nagle, brother-in-law Ken (Irene) Kwantes; many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, precious grandson, Christopher Nagle, brother Melvin (Patricia) Bulk, sister-in-law Janet (Ernie) Feenstra, 2 brothers in infancy and 4 step-sisters. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Zaagman Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm Friday November 18, 2022 at Zaagman Memorial Chapel with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Stephen De Wit will officiate. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Hospice or World Renew in her memory.
