Donna Lou Meyer, age 77, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Donna was a devoted educator, faithful church member, and beloved sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and enthusiasm for life touched many throughout her years.

She graduated from Holland Christian High School before continuing her education at Calvin College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She later received her master's degree from Michigan State University. Donna dedicated 38 years to teaching at Allendale Public Schools, where she invested in the lives of countless students and was respected by colleagues for her commitment, compassion, and excellence in education.

A longtime member of Fuller Avenue Church, Donna's faith was an important part of her life and guided her relationships and service to others.

Donna enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader and found great joy in golf, photography, floral gardening, outdoor activities, sports, and travel. Whether tending flowers, capturing moments through her camera lens, exploring new destinations, or enjoying time outdoors, Donna embraced life with curiosity, gratitude, and appreciation for God's creation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry G. and Minnie Meyer; her brothers, Arlin Meyer, Gary Meyer, and Mike Meyer; her sister-in-law, Karen Meyer; and her brother-in-law, Gerrit Van Beek.

Donna is lovingly survived by her siblings, Henrietta Van Beek, Irene (Dan) VanderBerg, Diek (Susan) Meyer, Sharon Meyer, and Beverly Meyer; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish her memory.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Fuller Avenue Church [1239 Fuller Ave SE, Grand Rapids, 49506]. Relatives and friends may meet with the family during a time of visitation from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Donna's memory to Faith Hospice or Visiting Angels.
