Donald Lee Deters, aged 63, of Byron Center, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday March 15, 2025 following a courageous battle with Amyloidosis, a rare blood cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Deters. Don is survived by his daughters: Sandy and Jon Van Huis, Jana and Ben Hedrick; five grandchildren: Derek, Carter, Taylor Van Huis, Adeline & Lucas Hedrick; his mother, Laurie Deters; brother, Jim and Sari Deters; sister, Joy and Paul Holtrop. Don will be deeply missed by his family. Don was a payroll administrator for over 35 years. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, sightseeing in the Canadian Rockies, biking around Mackinac Island, and spending time with his daughters and grandkids. Don was a regular attender of Calvary Church and always enjoyed their music and message. A memorial service will be held at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 on Saturday April 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour preceding the service.
