Djoerd "Duke" Van Kammen, age 95 of Grand Rapids, originally from Groningen, the Netherlands, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 11, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marjorie; his children Audrey and Patrick Allen, Joseph and Loretta Van Kammen, Ed and Linda Van Kammen, Grace and Greg Tiffany, Bernard and Karin Van Kammen; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister Johanna Hollander.

Duke was long time member of Mayfair CRC and Seventh Reformed Church. He was the caretaker at the Blodgett Estate for over 25 years and his love of gardening continued well into his retirement.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December 15, at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, with Rev. Paul van Engelenhoven officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends and relatives at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, 5 to 7 pm and on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in Duke's memory may be made to Grand Rapids Christian Schools, or Bethany Christian Services.
