David J. Kasprzak, age 84 of Howard City, MI, previously of Grand Rapids, passed away on June 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Helen, his brother Ronald, sister Florence, and most recently, his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret M. (Erhardt) in 2016. He is survived by his 6 children: Sharon Whipple, Robert (Mary Margaret) Kasprzak, Sue (Randy) Rakus, Ken Kasprzak, Thomas (Jennifer) Kasprzak, Sally (David) Plachecki, 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was a 1955 graduate of Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy on a destroyer in the Atlantic Fleet. After 40 years he retired in 2003 from Farm Bureau Insurance Company. David was a member of Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Knights of Columbus, and Christ the King Parish in Howard City, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 29, 2022, at 10:30am at the Basilica of St. Adalbert. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 4-8pm on Tuesday, June 28 at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546), and one hour before Mass at the Basilica on Wednesday. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery with military honors at 2pm.
