Obituary

Dan Bultman was born in Grand Rapids on December 4, 1949, to John and Dorothy Bultman, both originally from Fremont. Dan was the youngest of six siblings, and like his brothers and sisters before him, he attended Ottawa Hills High School. After graduating from Michigan State University, Dan taught in the Grand Rapids Public Schools, where his physical stature combined with his gentle, caring demeanor and love for teaching earned him the love and respect of his students through many years. He had a quick wit, was well read, and his impressive breadth of knowledge would certainly have made him a Jeopardy! champion. Though he became more private through the years, he was always loved and respected, and too often missed by so many of his family. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, Barb, Ken, Bill, and Margot, two nieces and one nephew. He is survived by his sister Connie and several nieces and nephews. Dan was blessed to have close, loyal, longtime friends who frequently kept him company and helped him with many things especially as his health declined, and his family would like to give special thanks to his friends Mike and Don for their friendship and for looking after him through the years.
