Colleen Ann
Hollern
Mar 17, 1995 — Oct 16, 2025
Colleen Ann Hollern, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 30. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Colleen filled the world with laughter, love, and warmth that touched everyone who knew her.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Lilah, who was the light of her life. Colleen is also deeply loved by her parents, Patrick and Michelle Hollern, and her siblings Dan (Ally), Rick (Jenna), Joe (Kathryn), Rachael (Mark), Mandy, and Shannon. She was the proud and fun aunt to Camden, Millie, Jack, Isabel, Foster, Lennon, and Luca, and is reunited in heaven with her nephew Landry, whom she loved dearly. She is also missed by her Grandmas Isabel Hollern and Mary Lou (Busha) West and is celebrating in heaven with her Grandpas Dale Hollern and Kenneth West.
Colleen had a heart of gold and a courage that inspired everyone around her. Despite living with chronic pain and illness for most of her life, she faced each day with grace, strength, and an unwavering positive spirit. She rarely complained, choosing instead to focus on others — offering love, laughter, and kindness even when she was hurting. Her resilience and quiet bravery were nothing short of extraordinary.
She was passionate about being the best mother to Lilah first and foremost, but also about Michigan State, Snoop Dogg, and LeBron James, and she brought that same enthusiasm to every part of her life. She was also famous for her love of candy – you could always count on her to have an endless supply of the best treats. Her laughter was contagious, her hugs were genuine, and her love was unwavering.
Now pain-free and at peace, Colleen is in heaven, surrounded by love. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in all who were blessed to know her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Thursday, October 23, at 1:00 pm. Colleen's family will greet relatives and friends at church from 12-1 pm, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a gift to support Lilah would be greatly appreciated.
