Coleen M. Minton, age 56, of Grand Rapids, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 23, 2022. She was a loving mom, wife, and friend. Surviving is her husband of 28 years, David Minton; sons Derek of Troy, MI and Kyle of Grand Rapids, MI; daughter Megan of Mt. Pleasant, MI; brother Ralph Smith (Barb) in California; sister-in-law Debra Minton (Terri Osborne) of Saugatuck, MI; in law's Cliff and Mary Minton of Montague, MI; nephew Danny in California; niece Kathy in Illinois; and lifetime friend Nancy Lehman Wynen (Kevin) in Niles, MI. Preceding her in death was her dear mother Arlyn Gaye Smith and Coleen's dad Robert Henry Smith. Coleen moved from California to Indiana where she met her husband Dave and landed her dream job as a travel agent helping with tours and traveling throughout the United States and all over the world. She was proud to watch her kids grow up to be responsible, caring adults while overseeing her son Kyle, who has autism, and watching him mature into a caring, lovable young man. Coleen loved to refinish furniture, take her son Kyle metal-detecting, and was also very involved in her kid's soccer, baseball, and school activities. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1200 28th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI.
