Clarence "Claus" Kerkstra, age 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 15, 2022. Claus was born on July 29, 1934 to Ralph and Bertha Kerkstra. He was a quiet man of God, always making scripture reading and prayer family priorities, setting an example for his children. He put his love for the Lord first and foremost in his life. Claus will be lovingly remembered by his wife Wilma (Koetsier) of 67 years, his four children: Steven (Lisabeth) Kerkstra, Gayle (Brian) Hoekman, Timothy (Penny) Kerkstra, Valerie (Jim) Tuuk; his 11 grandchildren: Gabrielle Kerkstra, Bradley Kerkstra; Bret (Elizabeth) Hoekman, Bethany (Aaron) Caldwell, Brandon Hoekman; Amberle (Vince) Castañeda, Hilary Kerkstra, Brennan Kerkstra; Nate Dykstra, Alyssa (Patrick) Walters, Jordan Tuuk; and 7 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Anna Eldrenkamp; his in-laws Eleanor and Dick DeVries, Marilyn and Emery Kosten, Gary and Pat Koetsier, Betty and Ben Brinks. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM  Wednesday, July 20, at Cascade Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 6655 Cascade Rd. SE, with Rev. Milton Doornbos officiating. Visitation will be held at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St SE, on Tuesday, July 19, from 6 to 8 PM and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Holland Home Foundation or to Faith Hospice.
