Carol E.
Kriekard
Oct 15, 1945 — Aug 30, 2026
Carol Kriekard (Ammon), child of God, age 80 of Ada, Michigan passed away on August 30, 2026 after fighting cancer with unwavering courage and grace. She has now begun living eternally with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Carol was born on October 15, 1945, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was the fifth of seven children born to John and Evelyn Ammon, who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by two brothers, Wayne Ammon and Glenn Ammon as well as her Mother-in-law Helen Kriekard and Sister-in-law Sue Kriekard.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Ned Kriekard. They were blessed to celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2025. Through the years, they created lasting memories —including traveling, spending many winters in Florida, and living several years near Lake Michigan in South Haven, Michigan. Together, they built a life that centered around the love of God.
Also surviving her are her children: Beth Mattingly, Glenna (John) Mindling, and Brian (Pam) Kriekard. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Samantha Mattingly, Anna Mindling, Emily Mindling, Rebecca (Timothy) Nelson, Jackson Mindling, Noah Kriekard, Gretta Kriekard and Jonah Kriekard. Also left behind who will sadly miss her are her four sisters —Delores Greig, Gloria Van Dyk, Jan Highhouse, and Ruth Hendricks. Carol is also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous dearly loved friends. As we mourn her loss, we rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior experiencing Heaven's splendor.
Carol's life was marked by a strong faith and deep love of family and friends. She was known for her generosity and hospitality, strong work ethic, quick wit, impeccable organization and maintaining a spotless home. Carol enjoyed home decorating, playing cards, entertaining road trips, tending to her flowers and helping others. She loved and had a talent for connecting with people.
Family was at the center of her life. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Carol took immense pride in the accomplishments of those she loved. She was fiercely devoted to her grandchildren and lavished them with love. She looked forward to attending their activities and was present for every possible milestone she was able to attend.
The family gives special thanks to Faith Hospice for their love, care and comfort.
