Betty Ann Melles, 88, of Grand Rapids, MI went to be with her Lord on Saturday September 14, 2024 at her home. She was born in the Netherlands to Alje and Eva Van Biessim Buiter in 1936. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Lynn Bouwens and granddaughter, Jillian Elizabeth Bouwens. She is survived by her husband, John Melles, with whom she would have celebrated 68 years of marriage on September 29, 2024; daughter, Lisa (James Gregory) Anderson; grandchildren, Christina (Scott) Nicole Lasher, Chad Michael Bouwens (Alesha Weigel); great-grandchildren, Briana Nichole Zwiers, Jacob Thomas Zwiers, and Jocelyn Nichole Bouwens. She retired after 34 years at Keller Brass Betty was a loving and giving person whose face would shine in the company of family and friends. Her infectious smile could brighten up the darkest days and she loved to tell people about her Lord. "The Lord is my Shepherd" Psalm 23. Services for Betty will be private.
