Benjamin D.
Muthyala
May 5, 1934 — Jul 3, 2023
Rev. Dr. Muthyala Benjamin Diwakar born 5th of May 1934 in Akividu, Andhra Pradesh, India went to his heavenly home on the 3rd of July 2023. He was one of eight siblings, a wonderful husband, caring father, and a nurturing grandfather. When he was born he was dedicated to God's ministry by his parents.
He completed his early education and Bachelors of Arts in Guntur,Andhra Pradesh and went on to do Bachelors of Divinity in Serampore College, West Bengal. In 1975 he continued on to do master's in theology in United Theological College Bangalore, Karnataka.
His first posting as a pastor in 1954 was in a small remote village in Andhra Pradesh. After completing his BD, he worked as a pastor in many churches in Vizag, Kharagpur, Guntur, Kakinada and Bangalore. While in Andhra Pradesh he was an active member of the Canadian Baptist Mission.
From 1981 to 1994 he worked for the Indian Baptist Mission now Indian Baptist Society as a Director of Church Development. After he retired, he worked for Tom Cox World Ministries. As a labourer of Christ spanning over 60 years he pastored many churches, helped plant churches, mentored many pastors, and led many to accept Christ as their Saviour.
Despite all his achievements he was a very humble and simple man who wanted the best for everyone. We are devastated by this loss; however we are blessed that he got to spend the last year with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren in Michigan, USA. We know how much being with family meant to him.
We will miss his kind, patient, and gentle soul. May he rest in peace.
