Belva Jean
Whigham
Jan 27, 1935 — Jan 22, 2024
In the Father's house. Our beautiful mother, grandmother, Gigi, aunt, and friend was welcomed into heaven on Monday, January 22, 2024, at age 89. She joins her loving husband Peter and son Peter Allen, who went before her. Also preceding her are her parents Mary and William Whitehead and brothers Donald and William. Belva is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Kevin Post; granddaughter Whitney Benedict (Max); grandson Nicholas Post (Jeanna); and her five great grandchildren Jack, Dominic, Mazey, and Victoria Benedict and Jacob Post. She is also survived by her sister Valerie Eck and beloved nieces Kerry and Mari. The family wishes to thank Dr. Duemler and Belva's special caregivers at Raybrook Manor, DeVos 2. We are very grateful for Jennifer and her team, who showed mom so much love. Also, a special thank you to Jane B., who arranged all the outings and activities that brought Belva so much joy. A celebration of Belva's life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Raybrook Manor Chapel, 2121 Raybrook St. SE. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. In keeping with Belva's generous spirit, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church or to the Holland Home Residence Assistance Fund.
