Barbara Sattler, age 83 of Grand Rapids was taken to her home in Heaven on June 5 to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. Barb lived 22 years after the death of her husband Dick whom she loved with all her heart through forty years of marriage and to her final breath. She was the daughter of John & Dorothy Bultman and was born and raised in Grand Rapids, graduating from Ottawa Hills High School, just as her sons would do years later. She was the first of six children in her family. She was preceded in death by brothers Ken and Bill and sister Margot (Woodstra), and is survived by brother Dan and sister Connie (Montemagni). Barb and Dick modeled their faith in Christ for their sons Kurt (Peggy), Eric (Connie), and Mark (Gail), all of whom live in the Grand Rapids area. They dearly loved and thoroughly enjoyed their five grandchildren, Catie, Jeff, John, Phil, and Will. Five great-grandchildren are also blessed by the legacy of faith and love instilled by Barb and Dick. Barb's greatest joy came from being a wife and mother to her family. She also joyfully served her Lord by using her love of music and gift of singing to lead others in worship through choirs and solos throughout most of her life. After her own children had grown, Barb worked at Covenant Kids preschool where she taught and cared for little ones, which was another of her many gifts. Barb's final years were spent at Raybrook Manor in Grand Rapids, where she was well cared for by the staff in the Cook Unit, for which her family is so grateful. Services for Barbara will be private.
