Barbara Jean Postma, a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024. She was born on August 4, 1935, and graduated from Holland Christian High School. Later in life, she took college courses at Aquinas College, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to learning.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Postma, who passed away on August 2, 2002. She is survived by her children: Tim (Cindy) Postma, Tom Postma, Jayne (Marc) Bakker, and Joe (Tara) Postma; her ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters and brother-in-law, Lavina Tietsema and Retha (Russ) Genzink.

A lifetime member of the Christian Reformed Church, Barbara was a dedicated Coffee Break leader for many years at Brookside CRC. Her faith and service were central to her life, and she cherished the relationships she built within her church community.

Barbara had a passion for knitting, reading, and spending time at the beach. These interests brought her joy and relaxation throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held at Brookside Christian Reformed Church (3600 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508) on Wednesday, December 18, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Paul DeVries officiating.
