Audrey
Prince
Jul 26, 1933 — Feb 22, 2025
Audrey Prince died unexpectedly, but peacefully on the evening of February 22, 2025. She was born Audrey Ruth Diephouse on July 26, 1933, to Peter and Jo Diephouse, sharing her birthday with her father. She attended Oakdale Christian School and Grand Rapids Christian School prior to graduating from Calvin College, where she met her future husband, Glenn Prince. After marrying on February 17, 1956, Audrey worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company for seven years before starting a family and choosing to be a full time stay at home mother.
She spent countless hours volunteering for school functions and fundraisers for all three of her children including hot lunches and making pigs-in-the-blanket and strawberry tarts for the Dutch booth for the annual Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts. In addition, she put hundreds of miles on the family station wagon carpooling kids to and from sporting events and other school activities. She watched, cheered and supported her children at too many games, meets or tournaments to even count. She also was a very faithful volunteer for her beloved Porter Hills and Dorthy Swift guilds. She volunteered in the coffee shop at Butterworth Hospital for over 50 years! Her sweet breads and Christmas cookies were legendary treats among these groups as well as her family.
With the addition of grandchildren Audrey & Glenn continued to be faithful attendees at concerts, plays and sporting events. Additionally, her Sunday afternoon meals are some of the best memories her family will cherish. Audrey loved to host her family and friends for numerous dinners or parties and always made everyone feel welcome.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Glenn in October of 2023 and her sister Dale Adams. She is survived by her children Kathy & Mike Cok, Tom & Laura Prince, and Allyson & James Koeman. Her grandchildren Ben & Lauren Cok, Merin & Travis DeKruyter, Kyle & Rachel Cok, Anna Prince & fiancé Jonny Daza-Holwerda, Sam Koeman & her boyfriend Nolan Asiala, Olivia Prince, Aubrie Cok, Tyler Koeman and Carolyn Prince. Great grandchildren Kohen Cok, Mikaela Cok, Hadie DeKruyter, Will Cok, Judah DeKruyter and Leo Cok. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Dave & Judy Diephouse as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was a faithful member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church for her entire life and served various committees throughout the years.
Visitation for Audrey will take place at Zaagman Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 28th from 1:00 to 3:00pm. A memorial service will immediately follow led by Pastor Kelly Buist.
In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wedgwood Christian Services, a favorite charity of Glenn & Audrey over the years.
