Aracelys "Celly" Lozada, age 59, of Grand Rapids, sadly passed away on August 7, 2025.

Celly was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 18th, 1965. She is the daughter of Crispulo Lozada and Mercedes Lozada - two Puerto Rican Natives. The eldest of four, she will be dearly missed by her younger siblings Nancy Lozada, Ulysses Lozada, and Angel Lozada. She also leaves behind her three sons D'Angelo Lozada, Isaac Lozada, and Josiah Lozada. She is now with her father, grandparents, and cousins in heaven. Celly was a true Boriqua. She loved her people and was true and kind, a woman of faith, and someone who fought hard for the people she loved- a true warrior.

Celly attended Ottawa Hills High and then Western Michigan University for a Criminal Justice degree. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20+ years of her life, during which she met some of her great friends. Celly was kindhearted, loving, caring, and respectful. She battled Lupus and other health problems for 20+ years. She loved Jesus Christ, her family, her friends, and her sons. Celly also loved her crime TV shows- CSI, Criminal Minds, and Law and Order. She also loved music, especially Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. She always brought others up when they were down. Even though we are sad, we still are truly grateful for the time we had with Celly. She was an amazing, strong woman. God bless you, Celly.

A time of visitation and remembrance will be held 11am to 1 pm on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Aracelys's memory be made to Mercedes Lozada, 927 Griggs SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507 to assist with the education of Aracelys's children.
