Anne Louise Tolis (Zaagman) passed on July 7, 2022, at Joy Givers Assisted Living Home in Traverse City, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ziedonis "Zig" Karlis Tolis (1997), her parents; Frank and Agnes DeMull; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Claire and Geneviere DeMull and Jim and Marilyn DeMull. She is survived by her children, Cheryl L. Hall of Byron Center, Bryan J. Zaagman of Cedar Springs, Linda M. (William) Jacklin of Traverse City, Karen S. (Emory) Clapper of Kalamazoo and Gary L. Zaagman of Kalamazoo. She is also remembered by her seven grandchildren; Laura Wargnier, Michelle (Derek) Schreur, Brandon (Hannah) Jacklin, William (Hannah) Jacklin, Katie Jacklin, Tyler Zaagman, Olyvia Clapper; five great-grandchildren; and her first husband, Edward Zaagman. Anne worked for many years as a care giver at Friendship Village Senior Living Community in Kalamazoo. She was passionate about camping, sewing, her pets and especially lighthouses. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and they have fond memories of sleepovers at Grandma's house. A one-hour visitation will be held at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE Grand Rapids, MI, 49546) on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 10:00 AM and a service at 11:00 AM. Light refreshments will be offered following the service. A graveside service will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park in Grand Rapids at 2:00 PM. If one wishes to make a memorial contribution in Anne's name, the family has asked to send one to the Alzheimer's Association National Office (225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17 Chicago, IL 60601).
