Angeline Mae
Bosscher
Oct 7, 1926 — Oct 9, 2026
Angeline Mae Bosscher passed away on Friday, October 9, just 2 days past her 100th birthday. She was born in Grand Rapids on October 7, 1926 to Jacob and Susie Droge. The family moved to Manhattan, Montana and then back to Grand Rapids after the death of her father. Angie graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School and then Butterworth Hospital School of Nursing. Working as a nurse brought Angie great joy. She spent most of her career as the office nurse of Dr. Harvey Bratt. Angie met her husband, James Bosscher, in Grand Rapids while she was still in nursing school. Together they had 5 children. Jim was the partner with boundless energy and ideas, and Angie worked behind the scenes to care for the kids, fix the food, and support Jim's causes. These included Camp Tall Turf, Safe Haven Ministries, Roseland Christian Ministries, and countless roles at Shawnee Park CRC. Together they opened their home to countless guests from around the world with a special fondness for Calvin College engineering students. Angie was happiest when caring for others, whether as a nurse volunteering at Baxter Clinic, as a grandma, fixing food for spring break work trips, or, in her last years, welcoming a new resident to her table at Raybrook. She was a blessing and a mom to so many! Angie is survived by her children Jack and Joan (Sopjes) Bosscher, Beth Terborg, David and Mary (Slotman) Bosscher, Marcia (Vermaire) Bosscher, Barb and Steve Timmermans and, honorary son, Wayne Nguyen Hung; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, Peter; son in law, Bob Terborg, and her siblings, Andrew Droge, Nella Kreuzer, Roy Droge, and James Droge. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 11:00 am in the Chapel at Raybrook Manor (2121 Raybrook SE, 49546) with Rev. Molly Bosscher and Rev. Darrin Compagner officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10-11 am, prior to the service. Please consider directing a memorial donation to: Tall Turf Ministries , or the James & Angeline Bosscher Scholarship at Calvin University .
