Jeanne Carol
Engelhard Heetderks
Dec 23, 1941 — Sep 5, 2026
Jeanne C. Engelhard Heetderks, aged 84, passed into eternal glory on September 5th, 2026. Jeanne lived her life in joyful obedience to Christ. We rejoice knowing she is in eternal joy and peace reflected in one of her life verses, Romans 15:13.
A dedicated servant of Christ and others, she worked for Blodgett/Spectrum Health in various aspects of nursing and administrative roles for 50 years. She was a lifelong learner. She graduated from Calvin/Blodgett nursing school; received a BSN from Mercy; and obtained a Masters in Communication from WMU. In each stage of her career, she knew God had led her there for a reason, finding joy and meaning in the people she worked with and cared for.
Her greatest role in life was as a faithful servant to God and others as a daughter, sister, wife, mom, gramma, grandma-great, and friend. She was a great role model to her family by living her faith out loud, not only in service to others, but in her daily personal time with Christ, singing joyfully in the choir for 50 years and holding various leadership roles in the church and outside of the church. Jeanne was curious, an avid reader, and enjoyed lively conversations with her many friends.
She leaves behind her husband of 5 years, Dr. Dewey Heetderks, and his family. Her children: Kristin Grek and Bill VanEe; David and Alisa Engelhard; Erin and John Molhoek. Grandchildren: Courtney and David Wolffis; Caleb, Gideon and Naomi Engelhard; David and Daniel Molhoek. Great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Henry and Benjamin Wolffis. She is also survived by her Sister Kathy and Dean Miedema; Ginger and Lyle Ohlman; John and Linda Engelhard; Elisabeth and Gerard Rozeboom; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Dr. David Engelhard, her brother Kenneth Stuit, and parents R. Kenneth and Wilma Stuit.
The family is grateful to Visiting Angels, Corewell Hospice, and Faith Hospice for their care and for providing a peaceful transition.
