Obituaries

Dorothy Vanden Hoek (nee Dise), age 86, of Grand Rapids, was met by her Lord and Savior Jesus in Glory on June 9, 2012. She was preceded in death by her son Randy Vanden Hoek; parents Jack and Frances Dise; and sister Jackie Faasse. She is survived by her husband Harold Vanden Hoek; daughter Gail and Rick Kamminga and son Jim and Cindy Vanden Hoek; grandchildren Shawn Strohpaul, Niki Vanden Hoek, Kurt and Melanie Kamminga, Linay and Jared Smith; great-grandchildren Addi, Jack, Gavin, and Hollyn; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law John and Harriet Vanden Hoek, Bruce Smith, Bryan Jones; and nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00pm at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton SE, and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral chapel at 11:00am with Rev. John Steigenga officiating.
