Obituaries

Donald Boeskool, aged 83, of Grand Rapids, beloved husband of Jean (Snellink) unexpectedly went to be with his Lord early on Monday, July 23, 2012. Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Bill, his in-laws, Pat Boeskool, Don and Ruth Snellink and Jim Snellink, and his niece Betsy. He is survived by his loving family. In addition to Jean, his wife of 62 years, he will be deeply missed by his daughter, Lori; son, Bob (Carol); grandchildren, Andy (Andrea), Cassidy, Gretchen and Maggie; and his great granddaughter, Harlow. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Wilma Boeskool and Dorothy Snellink, and many nieces and nephews. Don's faith and family were most important in his life, as well as many friends. He loved sports, at Central High, Hope College and throughout his life, and also loved to sing. Although we will miss him, we celebrate the assurance that he's home with his Lord. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 1:00 p.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE) with Rev. Thurman Rynbrandt officiating. Interment Graceland Memorial Park. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral chapel Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holland Home Resident Assistance Fund.
