Obituaries

Janet Yonkers, aged 98 1/2, of Spring Lake, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Lynne Roelofs of Spring Lake, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Dr. Matthew and Sherri Roelofs (Adam and Ryan) of Bellingham, WA, Nathan and Angela Roelofs (Beatrice and Agatha) of Portland, OR, Mark and Dr. Sarah Zimmerman (Bethany, Benjamin, and Naomi) of Spring Lake. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Nick and Delores Van Belkum, Ilene Magee, Gerald and Evelyn Werkema, Evelyn Pastoor, Bud and Dixie Schaapman, Lee and Mary Yonkers, and Grace Thomsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard, and son-in-law, Richard Roelofs. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 p.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE) with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. The family wishes to thank the people of Grace Reformed Church of Wyoming for their many prayers and cards, and also to the Oakcrest Communities and Heartwood Hospice of Spring Lake for their loving, compassionate care.
