Obituaries

Cornelia, aged 94, peacefully left the loving care of her family to be in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 21, 2012. She was a loving and caring mother to her children, Edward (Nancy) Huizinga, Nancy (Timothy) Rottschafer, Sandra (Stephen) Donker, and Richard (Ruth Pekelder) Huizinga; and her 17 grandchildren, Joel (Shelley) Huizinga, Holly (Hector) Valencia, Bradi (Brad) Kreider, Tara Harvey, Krista (Andrew) Heemstra, Samuel (Michelle) Donker, Katie (Nathan) Kilbourne, Joshua (Sarah) Donker and Jacob and Katharine Huizinga. She also cherished her 19 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Doris Vander Lugt, brothers-in-law, Robert Holwerda and Harold Huizinga, and sisters-in-law, Marjorie Huizinga and Lois Van Straten and many nieces and nephews. Connie served in the Nurses Army Corps in World War II. She was also a volunteer with C.R.W.R.C. and the American Red Cross. Funeral services including committal will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Raybrook Manor with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service with Rev. Eric Coulan officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or C.R.W.R.C.
